MOREOVER, WE HAVE CREATED A QUICK REFERENCE FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE A FEW SIMPLE STEPS ON WHAT TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN RENTING A HOME.

Step One: Figure Out Your Housing Budget

Knowing your bottom-line rental costs is a good jumping-off point for your hunt. It will help you determine the type of place you should look for, be it a one-bedroom apartment or a four-bedroom single family home. Also, be sure to budget for utilities. You can check with your area’s utility companies to get cost estimates based on the zip code. We also have a complete list of those providers in our RESOURCE tab for quick reference.

Don’t forget to factor in the price of renter’s insurance, which can help protect your belongings in the event of theft, fire, or other disasters. Buying your renter’s policy from the same company as your car insurance policy can cut down on costs in some cases, too.

Step Two: Separate Must-Haves from Nice-to-Haves.

The list will be different for everyone, of course, and you’ll have to prioritize what you’re willing to pay more for and what you’re willing to sacrifice.

Step Three: Start Your Search

Now that you know how much you can afford and what you’re looking for in a home, where should you start your search? You’ve already taken the first step by visiting us! Continue with our online property search tool or current in-house rental availability list. Additional rental finder services may be of help along with friends or family referrals.

Step Four: Continue Your Search in Person.

Contact us directly if there are properties you would like to visit in-person. We can arrange showings throughout the entire DFW metroplex to help you find the right place for you.

Step Five: Ask Questions and Understand Leasing Terms

No question is too small or too big. We strive to provide the best customer service, and if you don’t know the answer, then we haven’t done our job! Our team is here to help at every turn. Ask us questions, review our tenant application requirements and our leasing agreement online, and let us know how we can help!
